About Black is the New Green
Black is the New Green will document my personal journey to Go Green. The Green, or environmental, or sustainable Movement seeks to make people more environmentally conscious and aware by making changes in production, marketing and consumptions. However, persons of African origins in America have been late to the Green party. Which is truly a shame as environmental issues are more than caring about Polar Bears but addressing the overall social-economic well-being of our environment.
Through this pledge, which will begin on New Year's Day 2009, I will test traditional models of Green living while making it relevant to the African American community, particularly those in working class communities.
If you feel incline, join me on my journey by submitting feedback, suggestions and tales of your own personal Green stories.
