"Epic is a word too loosely pinned on as a label. Often associated with bands who only play instruments with their fingers rather than using their brains, hearts and souls, its lost its meaning. Forgotten its use.
Enter The Black Dove Experiment. A band whose synth and sample littered rock outs are epic with a capital E. Mixing up the aorta tugging darkness of primeval garage rock n rollers like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with a guitar minded modernity akin to The Cooper Temple Clause and UNKLE the quintet with black cagoules and even blacker souls are here to smash the plebeian indie mirror into a billion pieces with their paranoia pricked reverb monsters. Believe live, their sound is huge. Formed in the dark dirty bowels of Camden Town late last year the five-piece may have only played a mere fistful of gigs but theyve already adopted a buzz about them thats the volume of a really pissed off wasp swarm. But its easy to see why. Fronted by a singer whose gravely voice has enough litres of punk bile, fury and angst flowing through the lyrics to sink a ship, while the rest of the band melt ears with their sheer pounding glory, this isnt just music, its a spine shuddering heart swelling experience.
