Beth and Bill's Big Bad Buffy Bash '08!
I got my BFF to watch Buffy and Angel for the first time in 2008. After many, many nights of Whedonesque marathons, we started planning three months ahead for our Buffy themed Halloween party. We "staked" our close friends - mostly who had never watched the show before, and gave them a stake with an invite attached that was fastened with a cross, and a picture of the character they were to come as, along with the character description. We planned on 15 of these. They took about an hour and half each. Suddenly people found out and the party grew into something crazy. These are videos from our party - I'm also planning on making some videos with the pictures from our planning the party, as well as more from the actual itself. Stay tuned!

Humboldt County movie screening - Eureka, CA (8-27-08)
The intro and the Q and A session that followed the screening for the movie Humboldt County, which premiered on 8-27-08 at the Eureka Theatre. Directors/Writers Darren Grodsky and Danny Jacobs answer questions from the audience. They also bring out Aunt Laura, the inspiration for the character portrayed on screen by Frances Conroy. The sound isn't all that great, at least for the questions, but it's the next best thing to having been there. Film opens 9-26-08. Description: "Peter is a medical student about to graduate and begin his residency. When his professor fails him, he winds up in bed with an actress and singer named Bogart rolling through Los Angeles. He accompanies her to the northern most tip of California, where he encounters her eccentric family of pot farmers. But when Bogart runs away without a word, Peter is thrust into the picturesque and bizarre world that is Humboldt County."
