Welcome to my piano channel!

Most of my videos are piano tutorials. Hopefully you'll find them useful if you want to improve your piano playing and learn improvisation skills for jazz, blues and ballad styles.

I'm not aiming at complete piano beginners, but you only need a little knowledge to get started. If your understanding of the basics is a little rusty, check out my tutorials on basic harmony and piano chords first.

I don't post song walkthroughs (I'd rather you learned some real skills from me rather than just copy what I play), but apart from that I'm very open to ideas -- so let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see.

I know you have commented on Tori Amos' composing style before. Could you give us a few more indications about the specifics concerning her technique? This is a song performed by her, which she did not compose, but, at least to me, represents her ballad style. youtube . com/watch?v=w0KzuiqDDZU

I was one of your first 15 or so subcribers. So glad to see that you are no longer underappreciated.

Thank you so much for your posts on cocktail piano. When I was younger, it's just something I was not into at all, but now I find a need to be able to play lounge or mood music at times, with all the rich chords. I did get your book, but a makes a big difference to be able to see and hear. You're the best!

I really enjoy watching your teaching videos. I am just starting out on piano and can't do much that sounds very musical yet but I would love to play some piano blues in the years to come. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

This channel is so good that I stopped taking piano lessons. Now I can just sit back, listen, replay, pause whenever I want. And if I feel that I still don't get it, I'll watch the video again. Thank you very much for sharing all this!
