About Project: Southern Tier
The conversation about a changing climate is complex in some ways, and in others, very simple. In 2008 Producer Jeff Hyland set out on a bicycle ride across the Southern United States to capture the environmental pulse of a people. His motivation, a Father and Sister in law both fighting cancer.
What do people think about a changing climate? What lessons can be learned in specific communities? Where does religion and spirituality factor in to a planet that is becoming increasingly more toxic for each succeeding generation? These are a few of the questions that Hyland and friend Mike Tryon set out to ask on this grueling 3.5-month journey.
Enjoy the ride by bicycle and journey over mountains, desserts and flat tires in this 4 part documentary series. From sleeping in horse stables, learning about the Poo Poo Choo Choo, to camping next to the ranch where Dick Cheney shot his campaign contributor in the face, Project: Southern Tier is both entertaining and educational.
