In the summer of 2007 Grupo Compay Segundo and an Italian symphonic orchestra re-recorded the band's songs adding the beauty of classical arrangement to their popular exotic sound.
The orchestra was composed of 45 elements, including the Italian conductor Stefano Mazzoleni, the guitarist Massimo Scattolin and the tenor Francesco Grollo.
Along with Compay Segundo's masterpieces like Chan Chan, the CD also includes the latin classics Perfidia and Besame Mucho.

About Me:
When the album "Buena Vista Social Club" was released in 1997, the whole world fell in love with Compay Segundo and the everlasting Chan Chan, the song that still embodies the passionate spirit of Cuba.
This year his band, Grupo Compay Segundo, will celebrate his 100th birthday with a World Tour and the launch of a compact disc containing a re-release of their famous cuban classics plus a DVD with unseen backstages.
