I have it too but mine's worn out as I played it so much in the late 70s Had to put it on tape to conserve it and if anything's worth conserving it's this album. An absolute gem.

I remember the Farmers' Dance and The Circumcision Dance, the drummers, the jumbo chess, the dancing, and the cats prowling around. The Beef Domoda served in the restaurant was delicious. Rice, veg, beef served in a peanut sauce, lovely, been having it ever since!

Went there for our honeymoon in 87 Was very nice. Banjul brewery, trip to Mandinari village, Nbuko nature reserve, trip to Senegal. Gave out loads of pens to the local children!

Won a holiday to go back in 88. Stayed at The Atlantic this time. We were met at the airport by Ida (if I remember corr...

A story, a memorable tune and a real song. One of the greatest of the 70s. Always a pleasure to hear it.

You just find yourself returning to them time after time, finding new gems again and again. Discovered 'Salisbury' last night. Love 'em all over again.

Slade looking great and sounding even better with one of their perfect rockers. Saw them perform this at The Hippodrome Bham in 77 Been in my Slade top ten ever since the album was released.

Fantastic version. Made me a Slade fan in 71 and yes, still the best band ever, no question.

Just this one song qualifies them as the best ever, never mind the 32 other hits and over 300 wonderful songs. 50 years old now and have been a Slade fan for 39 of them (since Look Wot U Dun).
