I am an Egyptologist, freelance writer and the founder of Iconic Guides (http://www.iconicguides.com)
I hold a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Liverpool and am a leading expert on the community of royal workmen at Deir el-Medina and the Valley of the Kings. My academic interests focus on the social history and literature of the Egyptian New Kingdom.
As a seasoned traveller, I am particularly interested in the cultures of the ancient Near East and the Far East. A deep enthusiasm for Buddhist art and architecture recently took me to Japan, where I spent six months travelling and researching material for the Iconic Guides project.
Iconic Guides produces and sells audio guides to sites of historic interest around the world. To date, the business has developed a range of audio tours featuring sites in Egypt, Japan and Greece, and we are currently expanding our catalogue to cover ancient destinations in Italy, Turkey, Mexico, China and beyond.
