@xrictinagymnastics There is a deduction but it's generally for vaults that are quite flat in the first place IMO... It could have been one of the deductions though, because she doesn't get super distance.

The triple+leap is what wasn't counted I think.

The dismount is ridiculous, it's obvious she's nervous to perform it. It's something that's gonna kill her chances of medalling, or it'll turn her into the blame bag if team USA loses to Russia if she was put up on beam and (most likely) fell on that dismount.

@cj222100 The bars are relatively similarly spaced apart for all gymnasts, however they are allowed to be adjusted a few centimetres.

I think she has slight air awareness problems. The double arabian is always over or under-rotated... Her technique is good pre flight and she seems to still have enough power, so i just think she can't consistently judge how much rotation she needs.

If she'd made it to the finals performing like that that would have been a guaranteed medal, wouldn't be surprised if it has been gold.

@nicksline Double doubles need a lot of power yes, but they need super refined basic technique. She's also probably a bit too big now to be able to get all the flipping and twisting done, seeing as she'd have comparatively shorter axis in the air than gymnasts who do double-doubles (Vanessa, Shaw...

Lovely floor routine. She doesn't seem particularly flexible but even Khorkina sometimes struggled to hit a full 180 once she reached her 20's.

@HRRyan2 Even if he was a nice guy it was absolutely stupid to expect you can buy someones love. Good on her, she got a better life for her daughter, sure she played a guy which wasn't nice of her, but he's not much worse off and her life is probably a million times better.

I believe Yang Yilin should have won, but if you wanna compare skill for skill, Kexin's tkatchev dominates over Nastia's and Yilins... I think she was the most dynamic bar worker, sort of like an inbetween of the Yang/Nastia and Beth Tweddle... I think that's why she won, she exemplified all that...

@xrictinagymnastics If she gets a decent floor routine back, and just does a DTY I reckon she could still make the team purely 'cause she'd be the best vaulter, she'd probably score high on floor based on her reputation, and she'd be able to bring the leadership from the team they've been missing.

Remember you can't see all the deductions from this angle (leg seperations etc although I doubt there were any)... I got 4 tenths off, two shorts casts to handstand, slight pike in the middle of laid out jaeger and form break at beginning of dismount.

@mortella23 Lol she has nowhere near enough flexibility she should need for that to get counted. Don't get me wrong, she clean, powerful and I love most of her gymnastics, but that foot is nowhere near above head height, where it should be in ring position, for her to be awarded that move.

It actually would have been a good idea for Yang Yilin to make the worlds team... She could have replaced JYY in the TF...

@Richifaye Meg Fei's choreography was beautiful in 1997. But nowadays the Chinese have become very artistic. The current squad maybe isn't quite up to full potential, but to me Yang Yilin, Cheng Fei and Sui Lu have very beautiful routines.

I follow artistic gymnastics, not figure skating, but I find her performance quite passionate and believeable, even if technically she wasn't quite up to Yuna Kims standard.

Yeah it was nice and all but the Winter Olympics ain't got nothing on the Summer ones. Or at least the Beijing Olympics, but doubt any country would be able to top those for a long time...

Lovely set without the fall. The Koreans are actually quite strong on beam, they just need a bit more consistency. In a few years or next decade at least I think they could start to become players in the team competition, they've improved hugely, currently they seem to be a 90's/early 2000's japan.
