As for other British period dramas, the only ones that come to mine are adaptations apart from Upstairs Downstairs. My period drama series are the BBC's four parter of Emma, Cranford, Sense and Sensibility. Those are all set during 19th century. Upstairs Downstairs is set around the same time as Downton - at least the ORIGINAL series was. The BBC brought it back in 2010 with a 3 parter set during the 30s - the second series is due sometime this year.
