Tambone is interested in film as a medium for storytelling, not only in the context of researching and documenting on behalf of others but in empowering communities and individuals to tell their own stories through film as well. Her educational background and research interests include women's studies, Appalachian studies, Hispanic culture, religious studies, community development/activism, and sustainability.
About Me:
*Summer 1990: Shot and edited an astronomy presentation, which included short skits, for a friend during the Governors Scholars Program.
*Summer 1996: Edited a 10-minute video application about myself for the MTV program Road Rules.
Academic Courses & Formal Experience
*Spring 1992: History of Narrative Film course at Berea College, including a final group video presentation of skits related to course content.
*Spring 1998: Appalachian Problems and Institutions course at Berea College for which I shot and edited a 10-minute documentary on the closing of the Colleges Appalachian Museum.
*September 2004: Filmmakers Lab at the IdeaFestival, Lexington, Kentucky.
*Summer 2005: Video Production I course at Eastern Kentucky University.
*September 2008: Digital Storytelling Workshop facilitated by Carpetbag Theatre at the Brushy Fork Annual Institute.

*Co-producer, Water and Climate Change Film Festival at the 2009 Campus-Community Partnerships for Sustainability Conference.
*Co-producer, 2007-2011 Clear Creek Film Festival featuring film/video projects focused on but not limited to natural and sustainable living, Appalachian storytelling, Appalachian youth culture, global awareness/human rights, and any films created or produced by local media artists.
*Co-producer, Al Smith Fellowship Filmmakers Tour featuring Appalshop filmmakers Elizabeth Barret and Mimi Pickering at 2009 Clear Creek Film Festival.
