Did you know, the families of the prison officers lived on the island of Alcatraz? Its true, the children grew up there. They travelled by boat to the main land for school every day. In general the families on the island felt safer living on Alcatraz compared to living on the mainland.

Freedom! What is it good for? Absolutely everything!

Thank you Anders for buying the ticket to visit this historic site. It was one i will always remember.

A note that struck me-the island is so close to the bay of San Francisco.
A form of torture if you will. The prisoners could hear & see people, especially during festivities, occasions of celebrations-christmas, new year, easter etc. So close, but yet so far!

I visited the supposed deserted town of Bodie in the state of California & found there was a lot more going on than the authorities will have me believe-a showdown, a duel. I was shocked!

Fortunately i was able to catch it on cam, to bring the awfull truth to the public.

Tower of Babel

I was born with a tongue and mind
Like any other little child
But neither was of use to me
Until that gift set both wild.

Gave that gift to me.

I learned each thing had a name
And thus I learned abstraction,
And soon enough I could speak
To incite any sought reaction.

Dictating how things seemed to me.

I felt things with an English heart,
I heard things with English ears,
I saw things with my English eyes
So again arose my fears.

My fear of living in a cage
With walls all made the same,
And being trapped in a place
Where I was just one name.

I wished for a new perspective
A new way of witnessing the world
And so I took up a new tongue
And so my cage unfurled.

With each new delicious word,
An idea was unchained, freed
Within my unilingual soul
...Tower of Babel indeed!

Filmed in a very small town, Grythyttan Sweden, that once apon a time promised to be a thriving, booming town. You see, they found traces of silver here in the 1600's, but it proved impossible to access it for the amount of lake water!! So, small town it remained!

at a quarter past the rising sun,
it seemed as though time stood still,
pinned against the tips of a white picket fence.
the salary of my wasted time,
