Where I work we use bright red covers to protect the pitot statics. With a big f**k off bright red "remove before flight" lanyard about a metre long, the lanyard even has reflective strips for at night.

If everyone in the chain does their job properly, it can't be missed.

I always think buying old cars like the ones on this video are a false economy, you'll spend more on repairs than what the car is worth. "If its a bargin, it is too good to be true".
