@vova47 Cziffra had at least an equivalent technique to Tatum (and I am a huge Tatum fan)...but the way Cziffra toys with the most difficult pieces in the classical repertoire is stunning. He's very idiosyncratic-which is COOL!

He looks like he was a big guy for a pianist, over 6 foot tall. Huge hands. Can't hurt when playing all the huge romantic repetoire he played.

I love the "knife-in-the-teeth" feeling of his playing and it's not a cheesy show off thing that young virtuousos from the russian and chinese schools throw out with their well practiced performances. I really like his outline of the bass...and of course his lightning fast right hand too!

Didn't like it at first...but after a second listen. YES! love it.

@brassmonkeyjew in 1928 I don't believe they did 100's of studio takes to get the best performance as is done now. This is pretty darned good for such a brutal piece of music.

Did he play this after no 1? it is absolute hell putting these two back to back!
