So, here we are, at the final level. And what a final level this is. After playing it again, I have even more trouble understanding why it was deemed too hard, because it really isn't. There are plenty of checkpoints, so anyone who can get through Sunset Vista and Slippery Climb can get through this. In fact, I would say Slippery Climb is harder to beat normally in this version because of the rotating platforms and the single checkpoint. The prototype version of Sunset Vista is also much harder than this, so it still stands as the hardest Crash level I've ever played.
Differences? Not many. The only significant ones I can think of are the rotating patterns of the platforms at 1:17 and 3:42, which only makes the level a little harder. Also, the Cortex tokens are visible now and you can access the bonus stage. It's the same stage we saw in the test level, which requires use of the invincibility code (R1 + L1).
Looking back at my old video now, I'm really not satisfied with that run. I lost a mask and I was way too hesitant, often spending far too much time just waiting to take on a challenge. This run was much better, and I would have completed the level in less than four minutes without the bonus stage. I actually beat the level on one of my first attempts, but took damage somewhere along the way, so I decided to redo it until I got a result I was satisfied with. I actually had a lot more trouble with Fumbling In The Dark than I did here.
That's pretty much all there is to say about this level. Now only Cortex remains, and Castle Machinery, which I soon hope to find a way to access.
