Hello Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and the internet. We are Anonymous. As many of you know, we as a collective group stand by Lady Liberty in our fight against censorship and the powers that be. America's government has failed us, and now plans to shut down the internet, which is serious business. Two bills have been presented to congress: the Stop Online Piracy Act, and the Protect IP Act. The point of both bills is to not allow any copyrighted material on to the internet. Both bills give the right to big business to censor search engines results, force internet providers block sites with copyrighted material, and also force American advetisers to stop funding and advertising on these sites. This would certainly lead to the fall of the internet. That means the clip of music you have in the background of your weekly blog will be considered criminal, a felony, and could land you five years in jail. You will not be able to do your video game machinima commentary, or your cover of Pink Floyd you have been working on. Sound bites, quotes, clips, and covers will be considered illegal. But this doesn't have to happen. If you take the five minutes out of your life to call your representative and tell them why you do not approve, you can help. Help by educating your family, friends, classmates, peers, co-employees, and even your girlfriend. If either of these bills pass, we will not be able to remain Anonymous on the internet. We will have the searchlights shined on us and we will be cornered. The internet, which has more business and higher profits than the movie industry itself, would collapse. Do not let this happen. We are issuing a call of action. Do whatever you can to help prevent censorship on the internet. Operation Blackout is a go. We are Anonymous. We are legion. United as one, divided by zero. We do not forgive. We do not forget.
