@audie83 I agree, although I could do without those shorts! However, he as a joy, perfect wording. And when he smiled it changed his whole look. I will say he looks a whole lot like the pic of Kerri Strug currently on the right hand side of this screen, lol.

@srgymnast1 i have to wonder if an injury didnt contribute. that was the hand that was bothering him after pommels. perhaps the false grip was to protect the hand? which led to the slip?

@pinkmochaxx Gutsu used to perform the same move on floor. It's a double layout with split legs in the first rotation.

Exaltacion's first "release" move was bogus.

@wyocanchaser I completely agree. And when she was throwing the Amanar it was even more atrocious. Any improvement from her vault form is significant.

@snofagun1814 I'm assuming they competed in the qualification round when five gymnasts go up on each event. However, as long as they are on the team roster they get the medal. Just like Alicia Sacramone.

Komova just seemed defeated during her beam routine.

@tide32athlete While I think that Podkopayeva has incredible form I do agree that Kerri should have gotten a better score.

@violistick2000 They did upgrade it. I think alot of the coaches put it in because it would be easier to land without the step deduction.

@bernardmvella BBC is great except when it comes to their own gymnasts. They say that Becky Downie's vault is one of the best they've seen.....yeah.....they are more than a little biased towards their own gymnasts.

@alcoholicglitterati I thought she looked a little nervous or pained even, before her vault, She grabs her elbow after she salutes, I wonder if she was hurting. She's usually not quite soooo dour. lol

@mfsx5ip2 My guess would be either injury or the other gymnasts outscored her in prelims. Though China doesn't seem to change their finals gymnasts by the same criteria as the Americans. They tend to go with the ones who have been great throughout, I would go with injury.

@tmwalkerm If you did work in ortho you wouldn't be diagnosing nor recommending treatment for someone you have never consulted with. @ladodgerschick Unfortunately some gymnasts, like Rebecca Bross, have no choice. However, unless you are knock-kneed it should be, and is, a deduction.

@med20ful You were right the first time. You have to turn 16 the year of the competition to compete, however in the year before the olympics you can compete at world's at 15.

@salvadory We rarely have one tornado touch down a year, much less the over twenty that we got. There aren't sirens because the need has never been great enough. Local fire departments could sound their alarm but most fire departments aren't manned full time.

Someone may have already pointed it our but beam wasn't Shawn Johnson's final event. The floor is always competed last in the event finals, where she earned another silver.

Kim Arnold was robbed. I would love to see just what the judges took away from that vault. Being an unknown American was probably the biggest deduction.
