With regard to your overtake on the cyclist, why not put yourself right out in the lane to give him/her room...? That would have meant the Red Honda had to do a proper overtake in the other lane instead of being able to squeeze past you in your lane...and to be honest I didn't think he was that ...

Your problem seems to be that you don't adopt a dominant position in the road...position yourself appropriately and force drivers to make a proper overtake, rather than hugging the gutter. Works for me...
