The VC-10's cruise speed as originally opperated was significatly higher (Fuel consuption issues have brought it down). And in fact to this day it holds the trans atlantic subsonic speed record, to cross the atlantic faster than a VC-10 you need a concorde!

Thats not a rolls royce engine, it is in fact a rover engine, if it is a metoer, its the tank engine made by rover from the rolls royce merlin designs, the main differance being the lack of a supercharger. The egine would have been made at Lode lane where the Range Rover is now made
