This is in fact a flying boat, the hull is designed to ride on the water. Seaplanes ride on floats, the fuselage does not enter the water. Either may or may not be amphibious, that's irrelevant.

Perfectly normal smokey, oily radial engine start. It's because oil drains into the lower cylinders while the engine's not runnning. And yes, like all air-cooled engines it will get hot quickly without either a prop or a fan blasting air over it.

Known as "escape lanes" here, that one is badly installed. It should be a long deep bed of loose gravel to slow the truck down, not a few heaps dumped some way down a track.
