I'm Julie, I'm 36, and I live in Peterborough, Cambridgshire, UK.

I was diagnosed with the degenerative condition of the nervous system known as multiple sclerosis (or MS) when I was 19.

Today I'm doing well. Fingers crossed things will stay this way for some time to come.

During my 'good years' I want to do all I can to help other people with MS.

I help the MS Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with projects that raise awareness of what it's like to live with a condition like MS.

In 2007, the MS Society asked me to pose nude for acclaimed British artist Melissa Mailer-Yates in a new study of the sensuality of women with MS.

Although the prospect of being painted naked horrified me at first, I knew it was an experience that I would learn a lot from. I wasn't disappointed.
