This song is about a club that was located on 29th st.and 8th ave. in N.Y.City The Club opened in 1957 and closed around 1980. The best Belly Dancers ever. Great music and just good times. The name of the club was "The Egyptian Gardens" It was owned by Greeks.

Marilyn was just one Beautiful Woman.

The back up singers are great .They may be Grandmothers ,but they add a very sassy sound to the song.

We certainly made mistakes but remember one thing,America saved the world from Imperialistic Japan, Fascist Italy,Nazi Germany, and last but not least Communist Russia.But if America falls there will be no out there to save anyone. A long dark night will settle upon the earth ,

I swear the Apollo Theater was swaying back and forth the night I saw Sil Austin and his band do this number. That was way back in 1959.

Bill Doggett does a good job, I saw sill Austin do it at the Apollo Theater in N.Y.City in 1959 and he brought the house down.No matter its a great number.

You got it right ,the stroll was the only dance you could do to it.
