About this user
51 years young, born and grew up on Vancouver Island, specifically Nanaimo, British Columbia. I grew up during the1960's and was old enough to enjoy the 1960's classic songs and the singers that sang them so well when they came on the radio all fresh and brand new. I myself was a flower child. I lived in a commune. Yes, I took drugs like hash, grass, and worse, prescription pills. They were easy to get way back then. After several years of this I decided like thousands of other youths to clean my act up and try out transcendental mediatation. It worked and I still practice it today. All through these troubled years that I went through early on in life I felt 'saved' by the so called awesome power of my favorite rockers on earth. Their songs and their incredibly voices all had real messages and meanings that related to peace, brotherhood of mankind, sisterhood too, and love, love, love. It was a free sex era which I did not participate in as I was too young for starters. Unfortunately, our 'make love not war' beliefs came back to haunt us many years later with the world wide epidemic of AIDS. Still we had the right idea. Anything other then war is a good idea. And still, I love my (mostly deceased heros of rock) who died ever so young and so tragically. However, I love their music and I can never judge them for their drinking and drug taking. I was never perfect myself. I am clean now. However, back then, everyone was experiementing. I learned a lot. I wish I was still living in that era where everyone's doors were open and everyone knew one another on the block. I miss that life so much now. I have seen so much isolation from the kids with TV, computers, and games. The music today and some of the singers (sorry) they are not singers at all and the music is not good. Want to hear good music kids? Listen to all the real, good music from 1960 ~ 1975. Cheers! :)
