During my sophomore year in college, I decided to look The Supremes up on Wikipedia. Enthralled, I wanted to learn much more about this group beyond the fact they were led by Diana Ross and sang such tunes as "Baby Love" and "Stop! in the Name in the Love" (which, at the time, was really all I knew). I had seen "Dreamgirls", but it hadn't left impression. I had downloaded two or three popular songs and mislabeled them in iTunes as all being by "Diana Ross & the Supremes." But eventually, I went to YouTube - a site I rarely used. It was then that I first heard the words of a woman named Florence Ballard. I then began listening to every song by Flo, Mary and Diana that I could get my hands on. Their harmonies left me breathless. And now, my Motown reading list is about 20 books deep, and I am one-half of the greatest Motown cover group ever - Team Soul!
