Brennan Hall, countertenor, is a native of Orlando, Florida and is a graduate of Indiana University's Early Music Institute and studied under tenor Paul Elliott. Hall most recently appeared as a soloist in J.S. Bach's St. John Passion, conducted by Dana Marsh and in the Bloomington Bach Cantata Project, singing BWV 54 Widerstehe doch der Sünde at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. He sang the role of the Israelite Priest in George F. Handel's oratorio Judas Maccabaeus, conducted by William Gray. At IU, Hall was a soloist in various concerts, including Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Claudio Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine, John Dowland's First Book Ayres with Nigel North, and a recital of Czech art songs with collaborative pianist Elizabeth Avery. Hall appeared as Willie in Small Box, a new one-act opera by Bruce L. Pearson and Herman Whitfield III. Hall received his Bachelor's in Voice from Rollins College, where he studied under Edmund LeRoy and Curtis Rayam. Prior to studying at Rollins, Hall served over nine years as a soloist in the Orlando Deanery Boychoir, directed by Benjamin Lane. During that time he toured England, Ireland and Wales and also performed in Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter and Jean Ashworth Bartle.
