I'm 60 years old, and have trained on and off for a number of years - but never seriously. In March 2008, I took a good look at myself. I was completely out of condition. I had a 39.5 inch waist, was totally unfit, and had no muscle tone - a slob lol !! I decided to change my shape and my lifestyle.

Since then, I have come down to a 32 inch waist. This goes to show that regardless of how old you are you can make a big difference if you are prepared to train and use weights. I have also made sure that I only train for a max of 40 minutes per weights session.

You too can be in the best shape of your life if you are prepared to take the first step.

Hi Baz, I was wondering what your thoughts were on training triceps&biceps the same day? some people say you shouldn't and some say it doesn't matter, what do you think? hope your training is going well!

eetthhaannn- Try to find a less busy gym if you can or try different times. i know when I went to gym I would select the right time so it is fairly quite. Baz

rickyrickrick1224 - the answer is yes. They are both good pieces of quipment. You can always add in stand calf raises with some dumbbells. Just do one leg at a time as heavy as you can lift. Use hand straps if you have them. Great for forearms too having to hold really heavy weight. Baz

eetthhaannn- you will need to go to a gym or get quipment if you really are serious about building a good looking body. For now you can do some bodyweight exercises till you get proper quipment. Baz

I've got a question, can you build bigger calves fast by using the seated calf raise and leg press machine? since those are the only types of equipment they have in terms of calf machines at the gym i go to.

Hey, I'm 16, I don't have any gym equipment other then two 10kg dumbells which i can lift, Can you suggest any training exercises I could do with them?

greymy - there is so much information about training that it can be confusing. I would keep it simple and do normal flat bench press. I still mainly only do those and have found over the years that they are the best and you get the best results from them. A lot of the other exercises will give you shape etc but it is best to build a good size first. Most people will never need to do anything else. Keep your training simple with the main basic exercises and you will have a great looking body. The key is to eat right first. Baz

hey Baz :) im a noobie and i was wondering what do you think is the best way to train your chest for a beginner?

BleedBlueSwe - thanks so much for the very kind compliment. Remember that to get the perfect workout for you takes time. You have to try different things and when it feels right for you then it is right for you regardless of what others might think. Get all the tips you can and then workout for yourself what feels the best for you. Baz
