I personally hold the slide muzzle down when I scrub the breech face to keep any of the fouling from falling into the firing pin channel.

Gas ring gaps lining up...?

When you push the bolt back into the carrier after the field strip, the rings compress slightly and seal against the inner surface. The gaps almost completely disappear when the bolt is in the carrier due to the compression of the rings.

You should keep it pointed downrange when it fails to fire...should let the round sit in the chamber for a minute or so in case it is a hang fire.

@weaponeer - Doesn't look like he has it tight in his shoulder either, it's moving an awful lot under recoil. Front end of the rifle is jumping around off the rest. Easy to see mistakes in slow motion. I only know because when I shoot I get yelled at for the same stuff...lol.
