I don't know what branch of military you will go into but the DoD has the Defense Language Institute(DLI) at the Defense Langauge Institute Foreign Language Center(DLIFLC) at the Presidio of Monterey Cali were you can earn your AA degree in Foreign Language specializing in Japanese. Good luck.

I read your comment to the Japanese womens(on youtube) and if you are with the US Military you can be stationed in Japan and fall under SOFA. And if you play it right you could get a SOFA job on base after you do you time with DOD. You can use the PX/NEX or whatever branch you will jion. You can come to Japan by Space A MAC flight to Kadena or Misawa from Hawaii or Cali. But if you don't want to be in Japan under the DOD a BA or BS would be ok to get a Teaching Job. But know if you get a Visa to teach that is the only job you can do with that Visa. And being Gaikokujin may make it a little hard to get a place. I will tell you if you can get your Japanese strong(reading, writting and speaking) it will make everything a hell of a lot easy on you. Good luck gambattane
