...FOR THE EYES, THE EARS AND THE SOULl!
ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ

In our own life dramas, like our music, we're on stage, performing...sharing our gifts...being seen...doing what we do best...our starring roles. Sometimes, we get to help the Designer build the set...behind the scenes. Helping and serving without anyone but Him knowing. Our scenes are seen, but not us. Or a balcony person...up there high in the balcony...letting others know you are there encouraging...cheering them on...clapping. In all 3 life roles, you can be a star! Be seen on ALL scenes!

Stop by Trace's Place, my blog at http://tracebook-humorandho...

Giving everything in everything you do...gives you everything you need. Pouring yourself out...is what fills you up...whether it's a big cup or small...
Giving it everything I got...IS what gives me everything I need. The only way I know how to be...what makes me...me! When I give my all...it takes everything out of me, and yet gives me everything I could ever need. Yes! I'll take that! For sure! So, whatever you do, big or small, give it everything you got and do it up big! Now, that's something...that's everything! TNT LOL

Our songs? Sam writes and composes most of the songs. I impose myself in them and pray that God exposes HImself to me. I used to write more when I played guitar and have been writing much more lately and bringing back out some tunes I wrote before...feels so good. But, for now, his writing talent shines on all the songs. Also, writing a blog. Come by for a free album if you join. http://tracebook-humorandho... For now, though, I just sing them...give them my composure and exposure...a little of myself...or, I should say, all of myself, or in some cases? Lack of composure. PIMP LOL. And just all heart and soul. For the recordings, Sam plays most of all the instruments. He is so talented on guitar and bass and even played keys on a couple of them. We have guests sit in on our songs, also. Some include Jerie and Scott Olsen, Mark and Luke Glenn, Don McFarlin, Daniel Morales, and more... We are now looking for a permanent bass playa and drumma to gig with us and record. ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ

We are privileged and overjoyed to have our album on itunes!! (Click on the link at the bottom or search for us: the b.a.s.i.c. band "No Stranger To The Blues) (also our personal website above)

Our name... If you think about it, the one place we are all the same, is before our Maker. He has no step-children or grandchildren. We are all brothers and sisters before our Father. That is incredible...that is basic! We are basic when we say that basically everything we are is from God...I see Him in everything. We also love to have a lot of our musician friends sit in with our jams and songs. And we love to stir your soul with our music...we are "soul-stirs", basically!

ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜ

Our songs and videos tell our stories. Hear not only with your ears, but with your eyes...then, your heart. The reason for my '69 Camaro being my channel photo: "It was my first music room!" My place to drive, and be alone, and just sing! It was my favorite place to be. (And I love old cars)

My last 7 years could be classified as impossible to most, at the very least, tough. I had some life-saving and life-changing surgeries (had to have most of my stomach removed from a rare childhood disease that would come and go) that led to prescription drug addiction. I knew before-hand that it would be difficult, coming from a past of drugs and alcohol. IF I got through the urgeries. WOW! It was horrible getting off all the drugs, by myself. Trying to live without being medicated was tough. I had to face my fears of dying, seizures, estrangement, lost memories. With a body and nervous system that did not function normally anymore, I couldn't do much of anything. No more involvements or committments. No music...no living. In my own little world, struggling...dying to live...seemingly waiting to die. Most days I didn't know how I was going to go on? I kept waiting for things to get better, so I could change. Pretty soon, I realized, I had to change to get better. And keep changing to keep getting better. Hard to swallow my own words. But better to swallow words than pills. Every single day, my body is in a battle with my spirit and mind and emotions. And my body usually has the upper-hand. Funny, huh? Got to have humor! Anyway, I can't count on my body to work right, but I can count on God. It is not easy, but it feels right to need God in every part of my life. Sometimes when we feel good and things are going great, we forget He is here. I want to need God in everything every day. Now, the littliest step is a huge milestone for me. Like eating, sleeping, breathing or driving! Being part of a church, working in the yard, or sending out a card, making my daughter cinnamon toast, the store, even singing.... these are miracles for me... seemed impossible just a short time ago. I had gotten to a point where I couldn't hear God anymore, and that scared me more than my health, or the thought of not having another pill. Purpose is medicine! God will always make a way when there seems to be no way! I know! I have had alot of impossibles. And I have felt the darkness and loneliness and fear. It is scary when your body does not work properly, but it is worse when your spirit and mind become numb. I may have lost the ability to eat normally, but I crave the "Bread of Life". Have guts...just no stomach! Singing is my place of refuge and freedom. Where I feel like my spirit is in control of my body. The place where I belong.

ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ

My life has changed dramatically. I used to work at the Space Center, very healthy, very independent. Could do anything. I still believe I can do anything, but my power comes from my God. I had to stop worrying about staying alive, and just BE alive. My soul is coming alive again (more and more each day), that's what counts. It is still tough and even scary some days, just not impossible. I strive for excellence, leaving perfection for God! How do you know what is POSSIBLE, if you don't step into the impossible....

ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ

I have now, glimpses of possibilities, and that feels incredible. Hopelessness doesn't afford much joy! Humor and laughing - also medicine! Music - medicine! It keeps me alive! Encouragement breeds more encouragement, and is just a cool thing! I really love to give it and I really love to get it! I can't list everyone here, but I can tell you that I tell Him always about the kindnesses each one who has touched our lives have shown!!! Producing these videos and songs is an honor.

Music for your ears, eyes and souls...
ஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ۩۞۩ஜஜ

Fun stuff: I watch Monk and Psych (I am a cross between them). Love board games like boggle...sing and play drums on Rock Band/Guitar Hero World Tour (on-line name: Funk E. Bluze), do Math puzzles, computer-crazy, decorator, fix stuff, love old cars/trucks. Some things I have done are: drove a race-car, sat in the cockpit of the first shuttle, gymnastics, acrobatics, been in a jail, drove a monster truck and 750 Virago. Things I have taken apart and/or fixed: ice-maker, washer, CD burner, vacuum, cars. As you can see, I like to "fix" things, and now realize I always need His help...especially when it comes to fixing me. I do change up this section often, so do drop in. My soul to yours......be a soul-stir!

You can stay there out back as long as you want. I've been sorta out of the picture for a week or two. Very busy with unexpected events the first ten days of this year for sure. Unplugged is sounding wonderful. You might not need that equipment that died after all.
