WELCOME TO MY CHANNEL
Laus Deo
A channel devoted to promote the composers I listen to at any given time in space, be it past or present.
You'll find here music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, Mixes, Experimental, Avant Garde, Dodecaphonic, and etc., etc., etc..
Besides the famous names you'll find interesting compositions by lesser known (forgotten composers) or locally known composers.
I also pay my respects to some very fine and excellent female composers who are struggling to be heard or who suffer under the stigma that women compose second-rate works, or worse, can't compose.
Elizabeth Maconchy's 13 String Quartets, for example, are on a par with Shostakovitch's and Bartok's Quartets.
Nederlandse componisten op dit kanaal:
Matthijs Vermeulen, Leo Smit, Peter Schat, Henriette Bosmans, Cornelis Dopper, Karel Smulders, Ton de Leeuw, Kees van Baaren, Johannes Verhulst, Tristan Keuris, Henk Badings, Jan van Vlijmen, Willem Pijper, Jos Post, Ton Bruynèl en mijzelf.
Negative, stupid and know-it-all comments will be gladly deleted.
There is no freedom of speech on my channel I am proud to say!
I would like to finish with a quote by Ambrose Bierce:
A critic: a person who boasts himself hard to please because nobody tries to please him.
------------------------------ ------------------------------ ---------
Please don't request any MP3's from me. Buy the music like I did. Amazon.com has it all.
I DON'T RATE OR SUBSCRIBE BY REQUEST. Sharing is welcomed by me, as long it has musical/historical value. Friends are more than welcome to share!
I WILL NOT BEFRIEND PEOPLE WITH A POLITICAL AND/OR RELIGIOUS AGENDA OR WHOSE BOTTOMLINE IS $
Great Public Domain websites:
choral: CPDL
general: IMSLP

't welk het reisgezelschap, op goede gronden, op zich kon toepassen. Daar reed hij heen. ======== David Copperfield and Mr. Macawber by Charles Dickens; ========= "My other piece of advice, Copperfield, said Mr. Micawber, you know. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and, in short, you are for ever floored. As I am!"
