Celcius/centigrade is the SI unit of temperature as may be Kelvin. Although Kelvin is a perfectly valid temperature measurement, its disconnection from everyday life (water freezes at 0 deg C, boils at 100 deg C) makes it more suited to the laboratory than conversation!

Excellent video.
But I have a gripe that is not unique to this video:
As the US is almost alone in using the Fahrenheit as a measurement of temperature, all temperature measurements should be clearly defined using the appropriate scale: Fahrenheit or Celcius/centigrade. Kelvin even. It just nee...

@Poopingbotham
So true. The score could have been 4 - 1 to Stoke at one point and I don't think Arsenal were coming back from that. For those whose football knowledge doesn't extend beyond the Premier League, Stoke, under Tony Waddington, were a very good side.
Banks had a nightmare. I can't r...

I think any team would miss Fabregas. But in both Ramsey and Wilshire, Arsenal have players more than prepared to make such incisive passes.
And lets not forget, there have been as many players miss Arsenal FC when they decide to leave as players we have missed. They come, they go.......

I wish that were true but it isn't. Although Almunia was only a faction of a second late (less then 0.1 seconds by my calculations), he didn't get anything of the ball.

So let me get this straight: He dragged his foot so that he could reach the ball. Well, I'd give you that if it wasn't for:
1. The fact that dragging his left foot caused him to slow down reducing his chances of reaching the ball.
2. The collapsing of his left leg which no reaso...

@harryspooner
Funny enough, Utd are probably awarded a average number, compared to the top clubs, both home and away. What is striking is how few they concede. Over the last 10 seasons, they conceded less than a penalty a season at home and less then 1.5 per season at away matches.
What is tel...

1. The action does not need to be completed in order for it to be simulation. Rooney is clearly falling before he is caught by Almunia.

Well, let's hope that he doesn't follow Rooney's poor examples both on and off the pitch. The recent incidents of Wilshire's loutish behaviour do not bode well. He needs to cut them out and concentrate on his football.

I agree that the increments in Kelvin and Celsius are the same. I'm not sure where I said or implied they were not.
The issue with using Kelvin is its lack of common usage. If I said it's 303 deg K outside, let's go for a swim, would I get any takers? But if I said it's 87 deg...

You would think so, but do you know? As the US is still a Fahrenheit sort of place, many scientists still speak in that non-scientific dialect when addressing the public.
