Ham Radio - Yaesu FT-897 HF Portable in the Park
Here's a look at my portable station in operation on October 30, 2011. I even managed to squeeze in a contact with 5Q1A!
Nice video. I also use my FT-897D in a park not far from my house. I use a 17 ah battery and run either 5 or 40 watts out. Great little, "One Radio Do All" package.

@zs6djm The balun in test is a 4:1 balun. 50 ohms time 4 is 200 ohms. Hence the reason for using a 200 ohm resitor.

The antenna is probably only 6 miles from this site. I tried other repeater in the Allentown / Bethlehem area and the setup did well. I am not trying to compare this antenna to a beam. I am just trying to show you that it does work on 2 meters.....and works well !
