Neat idea , the old fashioned sawing horse was obviously invented years before the chain saw and no one has thought to invent something better, until now!

Plants get their carbon from the atmosphere not the soil. Carbonaceous material is valuable because it eventually turns into humus which does not feed the soil as such but forms a matrix round soil particles which enhances the texture and usability of pretty well any soil.

Good sound advice as in all your vids, especially about not taking on too much. Only thing i would add is that your spade and trowel will be better if you sharpen them .

The plastic gutter is about the only way to start carrots indoors. as carrots cannot be planted out in the same way that carrots can. with this method you just make i little trench where you want them to grow and just slide the whole lot out of the gutter in one go.

If your ground had a bit of a slope would you lay out the beds level or with the run on the slope?

@nerdmom920 Allotments are for people that dont own enough growing space , I dont know where you intend to put your containers , but plant for plant you need just as much space.

@jasonridley I think the joke is on you Jason, this is a spoof.If you listen beyond the silly voice , he presents his material very well which he could not do if he was "simple". and his gardenning knowledge although a bit old school is very sound.

@dkulikowski I read recently that CLEAR plastic warms up the soil best and it also gets any weed seeds to start growing so you can then remove them before planting the crop
