This video travel series tells the story of a slow voyage through the tranquil waterways of France aboard an old tug boat, the Regina. At the helm Richard Goodwin, a film producer whose credits include 'Seven Years In Tibet,' 'The Orient Express,' and 'A Passage to India' among others. In this video series, Richard has collected an array of fascinating interviews with bee keepers, cooks, charcutiers, chocolatiers etc. These are everyday people living near France's canals and rivers whose professions, or metiers, are extraordinary. Beautifully filmed over the seasons, Richard shares the festivals and traditions of the villagers and townspeople he meets on his journey. This is a collection for boat people and everyone else with an interest in France and her rich way of life.
