Tommy Roe got hammered hard for his songs being too "sappy" but I loved his singing from the first time that I ever heard "Sheila" in 1962. JFK was in the WH and we were sitting on pins and needles over a showdown with the Reds. As a teenager the music took me away from classroom atom bomb drills...
Great song from an epic time......A great movie to watch which will bring alot of the 1960's period into context for those who did not live through it (or for those who lived through it but don't remember much) is "I Love You Alice B. Toklas" with Peter Sellers. Hits in right on the head!
1967....my Plymouth Fury was brand new and the Summer of Love was upon us. Still have the Fury and these songs still sound as great as the V-8 in the Mopar....
