I am the Director of Balance Walking, and Business Development which is sponsored by Foot Solutions, Inc. I have been blessed to be leading the Balance Walking movement, supporting network and collaborative alliances and initiatives which are great fits for young and part of active populations. To bring awareness to the walking world and its many different levels, methods and venues of participation to introduce Balance Walking -The Next Wave of Healthy Walking in to personal health, fitness organizations, businesses and general public forums has been phenomenal. A recent partnership with Susan G. Komen is an alliance that will contribute to their network and growth to find a cure, continue with prevention and promotion of healthier living around the globe.
The joy for me in is in helping others find new ways to walk and in doing so to give momentum and community with or without a Balance Walking Network of walkers. A community of 1 or 2 or more that foster significant growth in healthy activity such as walking is always the goal. To contribute to that may be a Balance Walking module of activity which can always be done while maintaining integrity of any existing model programs. To contribute and to collaborate in the world of health and fitness while changing and bettering the world is a privilege. It is really never about one product, program or self promotion over another being the only way to achieve results today.
Recently the most exciting work with pole design and footwear innovations experts is being released in sync with the plan. To consider footwear that allows the body to complete full gait cycle as we were designed to move will be the next evolution in movement.
Several years at Miami Dade College teaching health/fitness & coaching swimming. Then Grad Asst. Exercise Science MS at GSU where I was hired before completion as an executive Health Fitness position in Atlanta in 1981. The years of Management and Competition led to the development of the first Triathlon Club in the Southeast, which grew to 500+ members. From 1981 - 1997 sponsored as an elite competitor - Nike, Avia, Trek and Scott, etc. and over 250 top 10 triathlon and biathlon finishes.
I will remain Humble ;)
