Based in urban Manila of his native Philippines, Richard Atrero de Guzman (b.1974) goes by the name Bahag. His photographs have been published in local and international publications like Marieclaire, Entrepreneur, Preview, Cosmopolitan and Menshealth. Despite photographing the glossy world of high fashion, de Guzman's heart is more inclined to produce socially relevant work in the tradtion of documentary photography and photojournalism.Travelling the globe for the past eight years, de Guzman has been commissioned by core civic institutions like the United Nations and the Drik Picture Library in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is represented internationally by M4 Asia and Bahaghari World Photography Philippines. Despite appreciating his participation in prestigious workshops and international photofestivals like the World Press Photo WPP Training in Amsterdam, the Masterclass WorkshopAsia in Bangkok, and the Angkor PhotoFest in Cambodia, de Guzman still values projects contributing to his homeland.
