Bad Omen started in a garage somewhere in Cheshunt in July 2005, then under the name of 'Destructive Revolution' with the musical meeting of guitarists Ben Rose and Michael Havis. They struggled to find their feet for a few months and recruited drummer Mark Wainwright, then entered a radio contest with a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover with mixed success - coming in at 89th (out of 180). After a few recordings the band decided to find a new place to practice in.
Having more success there, they began jamming and writing some original material in the summer 2006. Meeting up every Sunday, the band would develop, hone and practice their songs; this went on for many months.
In Spring 2007 the band chose Goffs School's upcoming Battle of the Bands for their on-stage debut.
