About backup short film festival
backup is a festival for film and video productions developed using digital tools, and also a stock-taking within the realm of 'new media'. backup began in the European Cultural Capital Year of Weimar that was celebrated in 1999, and with its 2001 edition, backup has reached a level that secures it a respectable place among the European festivals. In 2006, the festival received more than 1100 entries from 38 countries, and had over 3,000 visitors.
The 12th backup_festival will take place in Weimar from May06-09, 2010.
