Good place to farm CP and monster materials (grades 4 & 5) in the Archylte Steppe (??? AF). Once you have access to the weather machine, if you have not already done so, you'll need to find a yellow catuar waystone. Set the weather to Cloudy (both levers UP) and head to the southern area of the map. You will see a sort of wind effect; this is where the waystone is located. Use the Mog to show the hidden waystone (R1) and then use it. This teleports you to the Clearwater Marshes region of the map. Return to the camp by using the nearby red waystone.
Change weather to Rainy (Lever 1 UP, Lever 2 DOWN) and use the yellow waystone to get back to the Clearwater Marshes (waystone appears in all weather conditions after first use). Now the enemies in this area (Caterchipillar, Mud Frog, Hedge Frog & Swampmonk) all drop Potent Essences (Grade 4 monster material). Another enemy here (Microchus) drop Potent Crystals (Grade 5). This makes this area one of, if not the best areas in the game to get these materials. You can also capture a Blue Chocobo here - one of the best ravagers in the game at high levels. You'll also gain a lot of CP/gil while doing this :)
