@christianBVB09 Default GP4 sound is great for cars 2008 and earlier, but not 2011. The sounds are fine. This is how the cars are supposed to sound. More often than not, they're just converted from F1 2011. These definitely are.

Even to this day, I still think GP4 is the best formula 1 simulator we have seen. GPL comes a close second, but the AI in GP4 is unmatched even in 2012.

I think this is really what sets GP4 apart from all the other racing games. It's the only game I know of where anything can happen to your car at any given moment.

@joaquinveyron Yeah, but in what year? If he did it anytime in the last 5 years then don't even mention it, because the cars now have twice the downforce as they did in the late 80's and early 90's.

In 1990, Schumacher couldn't even come close to a 1:21 lap at Monaco.

Too bad the physics and AI aren't as good as the damage model and graphics in this game. Thankfully, Codemasters' F1 contract ends this year. Hopefully the FIA will sign a contract with a company who actually wants to make a Formula 1 SIMULATOR.

GP4's AI is unmatched even today. It's a shame you can't take GP4's AI and implement it in GPL. :)

Car models can look pretty decent, but the tracks still look awful because of the limitations of the GPL engine which is based on technology from 1999. @morganloveur Eh, no. The cars don't have THAT much force in the wheel. Even 1.0 is WAY too high. .50 or .75 is about right. At 3.5, you'll melt your wheel within just a couple hours.

I'm just really impressed people are already having to use mods. Does the game really suck that bad, that you are playing other mods, instead of you know... beta testing the game? Oh yeah that's right, it's not a beta test. It's a pay for a beta product purchase.

Looks like they've got a LOT of work to do with the wet physics. Either that or you were on slicks.

That cockpit shake crap gives me a headache. Not the actual jitter, but the violent shake that ISI games have been known for. Hopefully there's a way to turn that crap off in the plr files like you could do with rFactor 1.
