Greece's Blusoul closed out 2011 with what we feel was his best production to date. His remix of Sven Hauck & Simon Firth's 'Negative' was his most contemporary and modern sounding composition to date and it showed he was poised for great things as 2012 approached.

That appeared to be true as his first release from 2012 (a remix for Method) earned support from Nick Warren. Now it's time for Blusoul's first single of 2012 and it comes courtesy of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistiquemusic imprint. 'Fundamental Depths' is Blusoul's latest studio creation and it comes with remixes from: MSZ, No Sonic Limits and Simon Firth who are all very hyped names at the moment!
Blusoul's original begins with an extremely cool, percussive and hypnotic vibe. It's one of his tightest and most modern grooves yet. A sequence of soft off set stabs soon enters which adds some great warmth and bounce to the mix. The composition builds mightily as a raspy and heavily textured synth soon drops along with some airy chords and mildly gated vocal pads. It's a marvellously dreamy vibe but one that still comes with an electric dance floor presence that's certainly one of Blusoul's best. The first remix is supplied by Toronto's MSZ who shows his studio versatility here with a rock solid breaks interpretation that adds some great variety to the release. It's a tough dance floor selection of beats from MSZ that comes with some wonderful waning chords and many emotional moments. The breakdown is another one of MSZ's windswept soundscapes that's full of lightly layered textures and a soft bed of bubbly synths. Top work as usual from one of Canada's finest producers. No Sonic Limits delivered one of the year's best remixes thus far on Max Mason & Avi Rashid's 'H2o' which was released on Deepsessions about 3 weeks ago. He provides the next interpretation of 'Fundamental Depths' and continues with his strong run of productions. No Sonic Limits has a way of always crafting something that's smooth, hypnotic, undeniably cool but with just a hint of something epic and still always good for the dance floor. This is just one of those records that has a 'cool' vibe about it, the beats have a wonderful texture and come with enormous bounce. The lead synth lines that weave their way in and out of the mix are wickedly hypnotic and just have a vibrant almost electrically charged feel to them. Amazing stuff from No Sonic Limits, can't wait to hear what he comes up with next. Closing the package out is the UK's Simon Firth who has been literally everywhere lately, how he stays so consistently good is really baffling given his enormous production output. Simon's 'Fundamental Depths' remix comes with an amazing driving bass line that has a great grinding quality to it. This is one of those records that just keeps building and building to monster peak that is very emotionally satisfying with its soaring synths, ethereal sounds, wicked chord changes and some extremely unique and fresh sounding vocal snips! Monster package from Mistique and easily one of the best releases of 2012.
