My name is Sarah and Im a library student at the University of Arizona. I also spent four years of undergraduate torture trying to figure out how to work the catalog at Arizona State, and Ive conducted many a search in my two local public libraries of choice only to be disappointed. It took a semester-long course in online searching to truly master the catalog, and that shouldnt be the case. Everyone should be able to quickly and easily find information without any special traning, and my way of working toward that goal is to post tutorials on the basics without getting too detailed with the serious research stuff that casual users arent likely to need.
