Eiko Ishiwata is a Vancouver music composer for film, video games, television, advertisements and others. She specializes in recording acoustic instrumentation and avoids using MIDI instrument samples and virtual instruments by utilizing her multi-instrumentalist and engineering skills.

The instances where virtual instrumentation/sample libraries are used are to layer a low volume level of the string section underneath her acoustic string performance to emulate a full string orchestra; the other instances are for some percussion instrumentation, the piano, the tuba, orchestral double bass and some opera sections. Obviously synths and sound design heard in the pieces are not acoustically recorded:)
