Simon Warner, Wake up the street.
Song taken from the magical album Waiting rooms (1997), by Simon Warner
That's great news Richard. I've loved Waiting Rooms dearly ever since it came out. And no small part of it was down to your brilliant arrangements. I will buy at least one copy of the new album as soon as it's released - no question. (Just bought a 2nd copy of Waiting Rooms, as I have become a vi...

I've loved this album for 14 years. So ridiculous that he's never become famous. If Rough Trade had had any sense, they would have got Warner to support The Divine Comedy. Though Warner would have blown them clean off the stage! I've heard rumours that there are other albums - for instance, Richa...

So, "...they evolved typical mammal behaviour, like mating ..."
Sometimes, I think that whoever writes the scripts for these programs should have their eyes dug out with spoons! Mating is typical mammal. bird, reptile, amphibian, fish, insect, cephalopod, (did I miss any classes?) mating behaviour.

This is a great song. Roy's witty and a clever song-writer. There's a few lines that I don't get in this song though.(might be cultural references or something). One line I don't get is:
'And I ran out of (???????) and macrobiotic, organic, sustainable
medical marijuana'
Then there's: 'I was sh...

Christopher Hitchens Debate
@IlovemyGlock21 Adding music to Hitchens' speech here reminds me of the guests at Douglas Adams' Restaurant at the End of the Universe, who dress up as smart as they can to 'give it a sense of occasion'.
Hitchens' words are more than enough.

The Dubs: Episode 3 - Doubt, A Soliloquy
Brother Dan Brother deals with a bout of doubt after an unsettling conversation.
I feel almost sad for Dan. The whole thing about doubt and struggling with faith seems to be about fighting off the reasonable mind to try to preserve belief. What a shame to consider reason your enemy.

This is a very beautiful song, with lovely guitar playing.
But I have to ask, why all the FX on the voice? Why do that? Echo; OK, I suppose. Chorus; If you have to. But distortion - what's up with that?
