Willow, choke- or pincherry wood are hard to beat for flavoring. Even with the heads- on goldeyes will fall off the hook at times if you smoke-cook them (high temp. I guess); putting the fish on wire mesh works not bad. Your end product looks great though.

The number of sites wanting to sell silver to me is great but I am very hesitant to buy until there are at least a few sites offering to buy my silver. So far I have not seen anybody offering to do that. What's your anwer to that?

Isn't it about time that you environmentally oriented fly fishers got away from all that lead in fly tying? A #14 fly is just about the right size for a duck to scoop out of the lake or river bottom mud and to grind up with the gravel it usually has in the gizzard.

Not just great casting but outright elegant, a pleasure to watch.

No doubt you're a good caster but you got a fair number of puddle casts sprinkled in there.

Kind of a shi... place to have to catch fish but it's a very crowded country and this type of activity is a lot better than getting doused on dope or booze or snatching purses from little old ladies.
