There is no anti-north Indian wave as such. The only hostility is against the Bhojpuri people. The Mumbaikars don't use the term "North Indian" -- they use the terms Bhaiyya (Purvanchalis) & Biharis -- both denoting the Bhojpuri people.

(2) Things are now getting problematic because of the formation of the formal or informal Purvanchal (Bhojpuri) region, in which the Purvanchali chauvinists are trying to forcibly include Awadhi places like Allahabad. It is now very important to differentiate Awadhi from Bhojpuri.
