Named after the optical window of a camera, ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth is a week long film festival for young people and their families. The festival offers daytime screenings and workshops for school groups, as well as evening and weekend activities that showcase youth-made films. ViewFinders celebrates the best in regional, national and international films for youth, tackling issues from multiculturalism and community to sustainability and creativity. Throughout its activities, the Festival opens doors for anyone looking to watch great films, meet and learn from industry professionals, and to experience the wonderful world of moviemaking through hands-on media workshops.
But really, ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth is more than that. Beyond the main event, held each spring, the ViewFinders team is hard at work to bring a whole series of year-round activities and programs to young people across the Atlantic provinces, including:
Filmmaking Competitions for Youth School Tours (Festival in a Van) Film Productions & Mentorship Programs
