In the vast majority of videos on YouTube, the camera is a pretty passive element - it documents the performance in front of it. In both onoffon and wheelcam, the camera is more of a sculptural element. Watching onoffon is like sitting inside the sculpture as it unfolds, due mainly to the fan blowing in the microphone placing us in relation to the action in front of the camera. An event that could only exist as a video - quite wonderful! These videos place the viewer inside the sculptural event.

As someone who is interested in artist's books, I'm always looking for work in which the form helps to convey the content - art that couldn't exist in another medium without being damaged or changed. These videos stand out for having just that quality. Great stuff!
