Commerce Business Banquet (2008)
For the past four decades, the Commerce Business Banquet has been bringing employers and students together in a relaxed, and professional environment. The event is marked by great food, an excellent keynote speaker, and unique networking opportunities. This student run event is the largest of its kind in Canada, and is one of the premiere events put on by the I.H. Asper School of Business.
Asper B.Comm. Business Luncheon (2011)
The academic year began on Tuesday, September 6th with the Bachelor of Commerce Business Luncheon hosted by the Associates of the I. H. Asper School of Business at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Winnipeg. At this event, students got to know their classmates, professors and members of the Associates.
Alumnus Laurie Kepron, B.Comm (Hons) 1992, served as the luncheon's keynote speaker.
MBA Turkey Fry Tailgate Party (2010)
The 2010 school year was kicked off with the 1st Annual MBA Tailgate Turkey Fry and Bison Burger Bash. Asper MBA students, alumni, professors, friends and family gathered on Saturday, September 25th in the Loonie Lot outside the Bison Stadium to enjoy a traditional tailgate party, before heading to a Manitoba Bison's football game. This was a great opportunity to visit, have some great food, cheer on our football team, and enjoy one last weekend of warm weather!

IDEA Award Unveiling - N. Murray Edwards (2010)
On Tuesday, September 21, 2010, N. Murray Edwards, financier and business developer, received the 2010 International Distinguished Entrepreneur Award (IDEA).
Edwards gave a presentation to the students of the Asper School of Business at 10:00 a.m. This was followed by a short ceremony during which a plaque honouring him was unveiled.
The IDEA gala dinner was held Tuesday night, September 21, 2010 at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg, where Edwards was presented with a custom-made pure gold IDEA medal produced by the Royal Canadian Mint specifically for the occasion.

Humanitarian Work - Tamara Baker (2010)
Funded by USAID and the World Bank, Cordell Jacks and Tamara Baker began their program in October 2009, developing the Easy Latrine, an award-winning toilet. By using this toilet and market forces they have increased latrines in one region of Cambodia alone by 36 per cent, more than any other NGO or charity has done before. This is a huge breakthrough in a country where more people have cellular phones than toilets. What is more, Jacks and Baker have created a market that people didn't believe existed and sanitation related revenues in the project regions of Cambodia have since increased 800 per cent.

The Successful Elevator Pitch (2010)
Asper School of Business student Andrea Legary explains how to give a successful elevator pitch. Shes a member of Aspers business team A2K Technologies, which recently won all the Alerus Entrepreneurship Challenge competitions awards: Most Innovative Idea, Best Elevator Pitch and Grand Champion. A2K also won the Lightning Round at the University of Oregons New Venture Championship and they won the Georgia Bowl in Atlanta.
The Asper School of Business has a world record 46 first-place finishes in business competitions since 1995 and A2Ks successes have won them a berth into Global MOOT Corp., the world championship business competition. This marks the eighth consecutive year the University of Manitoba has won a berth.
The Asper School is the only Canadian school, and one of only a handful in the world, to accomplish this.
Asper Closes NASDAQ (2009 & 2010)
Dean Glenn Feltham, alongside staff and students from the Asper MBA and undergraduate programs rang the closing bell on August 18, 2009 and August 20, 2010 to celebrate the Stuart Clark Venture Challenge, an Asper School of Business student competition with a track record for helping launch multimillion dollar ventures.
